Hosta 'Devastator'

Ron Livingston of Michigan is the originator of this fast growing cultivar which is a seedling of H. 'Invincible' × an unnamed seedling. It was registered by Stuart Asch of Michigan in 2009. This hosta grows into a large size plant about 18 inches high by 38 inches wide with bright yellow foliage. The leaves are moderately wavy, slightly folded, ovate and shiny on top with red colored petioles. Pale lavender, slightly striped flowers bloom from August into September. It sets viable seeds. The foliage changes from yellow to lime green during the season.

Stuart Asch made the following comment on the Fraternal Order of Seedy Fellows website: "A gift from my fellow FOoSF friend Ron Livingston. Striking color in spring, this wonderful wavy leaved hosta keeps it glow well into late summer. Unusual petioles radiate the perimeter like spokes on a wheel. stretching 24" in all directions.
