This cultivar is a tissue culture sport of H. 'Elegans' which is a non-registered plant from Mark Zilis at Q & Z Nursery in Illinois. The blue-green foliage has a thin white marginal variegation and thick substance.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks among the unpopular "drawstring" group of hostas, i.e. the leaf margins usually tear and turn brown...If you grow this plant, remove the first flush of growth and the resulting new leaves will be much more palatable."
