A hybrid of H. 'Vicki Aden' × an unnamed seedling, this cultivar
was registered by
Paul Aden of New York in 1980. It grows
into a medium size hosta about 17 inches
in height with a spread of 38 inches. The chartreuse colored
foliage becomes a pale green later in the season with a white
marginal variegation. Leaves are slightly wavy with average
substance. Pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into
August. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "The popularity that 'Citiation' achieved during the 1980s
has declined significantly...It has a good growth rate, making
it an excellent choice for both the garden and in containers."
