This cultivar was registered
by
Peter Ruh of Ohio in
1998 on behalf of
the originator,
Eunice V. Fisher of Wisconsin who introduced it in 1971. It is
a hybrid of H. nakaiana which grows about 17 inches
tall and spreads to around 43 inches in width. The leaves are
slightly corrugated, moderately cupped and have a thin bloom on
the underside. Dense clusters of pale lavender flowers bloom in
July. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...a good choice as a ground
cover."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in
dappled shade, where the leaves will retain their
early, attractive blue-gray cast for longer into the
summer...it increases rapidly."
