Hosta 'Candy Hearts'

This cultivar was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1998 on behalf of the originator, Eunice V. Fisher of Wisconsin who introduced it in 1971. It is a hybrid of H. nakaiana which grows about 17 inches tall and spreads to around 43 inches in width. The leaves are slightly corrugated, moderately cupped and have a thin bloom on the underside. Dense clusters of pale lavender flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...a good choice as a ground cover."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Site in dappled shade, where the leaves will retain their early, attractive blue-gray cast for longer into the summer...it increases rapidly."
