This sport of H. 'Midwest Gold' was originated by
Alex Summers of Delaware and registered in 2005 by
Peter Ruh of Ohio. It grows
into a large size hosta around 18 inches in height with a spread of 38
inches. The foliage is heavily corrugated with a thin underside
bloom and thick substance. Near-white flowers bloom from late June into July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Grow 'Buggy Wheels' in areas that do not receive direct
sunlight in spring to minimize spring desiccation burn."
