Hosta 'Blue Whirls'

A 1978 registration by Paul Aden of New York, this large size (23 inches high) cultivar has ovate, blue-green foliage with thick substance. Bell-shaped white flowers are borne on 28 inch tall scapes. It is a seedling of H. 'Blue Vision' and is considered a Tardiana-type hosta.

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), says that this plant falls into a category of "cultivars that exhibit many Tardiana traits but are not a part of Eric Smith's original group."

Do not confuse this with a non-registered hosta called H. 'Whirles'.
