Registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1999, this cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sieboldiana' which forms a large size mound 23 inches tall and 44 inches wide. The leaves are nearly round, are heavily corrugated and have thick substance.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...differs from other blue-leaved Sieboldianas in having rounder, smaller leaves."

Seedlings include H. 'Glad Rags'.
