This
Tardiana-type seedling was registered by the
British Hosta and
Hemerocallis Society on behalf of the originator,
Eric Smith in 1988. The
large size hosta grows to about 22
inches high with a width of around 49 inches. Its
blue-green foliage is slightly wavy, slightly corrugated and has
thick substance. Pale lavender flowers bloom in July followed by
viable seeds. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...ranks as one of the biggest of the Tardianas and is
known for its very bright blue foliage."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Leaf color is much bluer in cooler climates.
Moderate growth rate."
