This seedling of H. 'Green Piecrust' was registered by
The American Hosta Society on behalf of the originator,
Florence Shaw of Massachusetts in 1986. It grows
into a large size hosta about 24 inches in height
with a spread of 60 inches. The foliage starts out gold in color
in the spring but changes to a dark green by early summer.
Leaves are irregularly rippled with a long, thin tip. Medium
lavender flowers bloom from late June into July. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...notable for its distinctly wavy, dark green foliage and
large size mound size. I've seen it labeled 'Ruffled Queen' and
'Birchwood Queen' in some gardens."
