Hosta 'Apple Jack'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither are currently registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the others would have to be renamed.

This medium size hosta was introduced by Dr. Ralph (Herb) Benedict of Michigan. It is a seedling of H. 'Hadspen Hawk' which forms a medium size plant with cupped, blue-green foliage.

The image at the top of the page appears to be one from Benedict.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Two hostas currently bear this name. The plant I've described comes from Herb Benedict and makes a very dense mound of foliage...I observed another 'Apple Jack' in Ran Lydell's collection...That resembled 'Dust Devil' in that it had a shiny, dark green center and a light margin that turned green in late summer."
