A hybrid of
H. venusta x
H. capitata, this cultivar from
Japan was registered by
Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2002. It grows
into a small size hosta around 10 inches in height with
leaves that are slightly shiny on the bottom. Purple flowers are
borne in profusion in July. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Dr. Fumio Maekawa developed it over
sixty years ago..."
"Plant
is a hybrid made by Maekawa and named for the
address of his garden in Tokyo...It is similar to
H. nakaiana,
but has slightly larger leaves; the ridges on the
scape are identical to those on the species."
