Hosta 'Academy Cratered Blue'

Registered by Steve Chamberlain of New York in 2008, this slow growing cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a giant size hosta 33 inches tall by 31 inches wide with medium blue-green foliage. The nearly round leaves are moderately cupped, moderately corrugated with light blue-green petioles. Near white flowers with light lavender stripes bloom from June into July on scapes 9 to 13 inches tall. Seed set was unknown at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "Medium-sized, blue-green hosta with nearly circular, cupped leaves, with flower scapes that barely protrude beyond the leaves."
