This cultivar is a
seedling of H. 'Dorothy Benedict' which was registered
by
Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2004. This is a large size
cultivar which grows to about 21 inches in height with a
spread of around 44 inches. It has streaked foliage that
eventually becomes blue-green with a chartreuse to gold
marginal variegation. The leaves are broadly oblong to
ovate in shape, slightly wavy and have a thick underside
bloom. Pale lavender
flowers bloom in July.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...exhibits many typical H. 'Sieboldiana'
traits,
i.e. broad blade shape, many vein pairs, thick
substance, and a thick bloom on the leaf underside."
