The mild Mediterranean climate of San Francisco enables the San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum to grow and conserve plants from all over the world, including plants which are no longer found in their native habitats. There are 55 acres of sanctuary - landscaped gardens and open spaces - and over 7000 varieties of plants from around the world!

This is a wonderful garden located in Golden Gate Park. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city. Across the street is the magnificent Japanese Garden. Visit both in half a day or take a lunch for a picnic.
