This is a garden devoted to native plants, i.e. those that
were in this area before Europeans arrived. I had a rough
time rating this one because for what it is intended, it
really deserves a 5 star. It appears to be well-maintained
and well-labeled with some historic interest too tied to the
original European settlers.
There are no beds and borders of showy perennials and annuals
and it is not meant to display the latest from the world of
ornamental horticulture. However, it is a great place to
visit if you want to find native, low maintenance plants for
a Southern California landscape. |
