Bickelhaupt Arboretum - USA - Gardens, Parks, Squares and Open Spaces

This fourteen acre facility was opened to the public in 1970. It has a sizable conifer collection with nearly 600 specimens. There are also collections of crabapples, magnolias and redbuds. In addition, there are plantings of perennials, annuals and shrub roses. This is the site of a Hosta Display Garden by The American Hosta Society that contains about 225 cultivars.

This is a fine collection of woody plants and a nice hosta collection. We visited on a dark, rainy day but found the arboretum well worth the effort especially if you have a keen interest in trees and shrubs that might be used in a landscape.
