The Victorian gothic house on
this site was one of the first on the University of
Wisconsin, Madison campus. It now houses the staff of the
Agricultural Research Stations.
In the early 1980's, the 2.5
acres around the house was developed into the Allen
Centennial Gardens. It is used as an outdoor classroom for
horticulture classes. The site features a wide array of
herbaceous perennials as well as trees and shrubs.
