The University of Oxford
Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Great
Britain. Since its beginnings in 1633, the Garden has
continually evolved and developed to the point that today it
is recognized as a classic yet contemporary botanic garden
at the heart of the University and City of Oxford.
The garden is relatively
small at 4.5 acres but has nearly 8,000 species or cultivars
of plants. Also located in Oxford is the
Christ Church
Meadow Garden.
