On the outskirts of Vienna, a short tram ride from downtown, is the
beautiful Belevedere Palace. It has a small, but well kept formal garden
with displays of annuals, trees and statuary.
If you are in Vienna and have some free time, a visit to
these gardens is well worth and hour or so of your time.
They are easy to reach on the tram line from the circle in
downtown Vienna. Not as extensive as
Versailles but
a nice, formal
garden of the early eras. We visited in the
summer of 2007 and there was a little construction underway
at that time..
