This option should be
used only if the other techniques (Trapping,
Changing Habitat,
Exclusion) do
not provide satisfactory results. It might be used
for
Chipmunks,
Groundmoles,
Mice,
Squirrels,
Voles,
and
Woodchucks.
Here are some key factors to consider with this
option:
-
Use the Proper
Product - Since these are toxic pesticides,
be sure to only use a product that is labeled
specifically for the animal you want to kill.
These are dangerous materials so you must be
sure that you follow the label instructions to
the letter.
-
Avoid
Non-Target Animals - Perhaps the most common
way in which poisons cause problems is when
non-target animals are impacted. Be sure to
investigate techniques for covering or otherwise
delivering the poison so that only the intended
critter can get them and not the neighbor's dog,
cat or birds, etc. These products must
especially be kept away from children!!!
