Legendary King Arthur was the ruler of his domain which included vast areas of forest in merry ole England. Point Arthur Arboretum hopes to continue in the spirit of the great King in our husbandry of the natural forest areas near Lake Port Arthur.

The arboretum was established in 1902 and has been a major tourist destination in Port Arthur County since 1950. We host the national Round Table Joust every July and are world renowned for our four and twenty blackbirds pie sold by the slice in our cafeteria.

Our tree collections include both native species and landscape ornamentals. We have over forty two species of shrubs in our landscape gardens. Perennial and water gardens are in the planning stages for 2004.Come visit us for the day or spend a week at our rustic campgrounds adjacent to the arboretum. Group and senior rates are available.
