Welcome to the homepage of the
Goutweed Society of
America. We are devoted to the
preservation and distribution of this plant
throughout the world. Our membership consists of
anyone interested in this wonderful plant.
We currently have 32 members
and we meet every other Tuesday during the noon
hour at the Qweetown Community Center.
Vegetarian lunch is provided by the local garden
club.
The club's key program for
the coming year is to introduce goutweed to as
many gardens as possible. Each member will
donate twelve four inch pots of goutweed to be
distributed at local plant swaps and yard sales.

Our major initiative for the coming year is to
work on a major public relations campaign to get
goutweed declared as the State Groundcover.
Governor Hortus Botanicus has shown strong
support for our issue. He and the leaders of the
state legislature will join together to
introduce the needed legislation this spring.
The only obstacle to our goal
may be a counter proposal by the Periwinkle
Foundation. They are pushing similar legislation
through the more conservative members of the
legislature. Representative Vinca Minor is
leading this effort and Senator Sandra Pachy has
been the leader in the Senate.
If you believe in our cause,
please contact your state representative and
encourage the passage of Bill 007, the Goutweed
Groundcover bill. Thank you for your help.
