Peter Ruh of Ohio registered this cultivar on behalf of the originator, Herbert A. Zager of Iowa in 1987. It forms a large size mound of gold centered leaves with green margins that fade to gold as the season progresses.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), it is of a similar type to H. 'Fortunei Albopicta'.
