Hosta 'Zachary Taylor'

This semi-upright growing cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by Hajime Sugita of Japan and registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 2001.

The medium size hosta has medium gold colored foliage. It has a bluish wax bloom on the top which wears off by mid-summer. The leaves are broadly ovate, heavily corrugated and have a distinct tip. Light lavender flowers bloom from late June into July.

Zachary Taylor was the 12th President of the United States, serving from March 1849 until his death in July 1850.
