This non-registered
cultivar of unidentified parentage was originated by
Shinya Fukatsu of Japan.
According to an article by the originator in
The British Hosta and Hemerocallis Society Journal
(Autumn 2019) this is a small to medium size hosta with
lanceolate foliage that is blue-green in color. Its
petioles are upright and hold the leaves in a vase-shape
mound. The flower buds come to a sharp point and the
blossoms are light purple with red-spots supported by
purplish colored scapes.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term midori as green.
