A sport of H. ventricosa 'Aureomarginata' was registered by Jim Hawes of Maryland in 1999. The leaves have a yellow center with a green marginal variegation. They turn to all green as the season progresses. A clump will grow to around 18 inches in height with a spread of 43 inches. Bell-shaped, bright purple flowers bloom in July.
