Registered by
Dr. Jim and Sandy Wilkins of Michigan in 2002, this sport of H. 'Maize and Blue' forms a small size mound. It has thick substance and the lavender flowers bloom in
August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...is one of two
stable sports out of
'Maize and Blue'. The other, 'Yin',
has the opposite foliage color pattern. Because of its
creamy-centered leaves, 'Yang' is a much slower grower than
'Yin' and difficult to establish in gardens."
