Hosta 'Wrinkle in Time'
 

Registered by Hans Hansen of Walters Gardens, Inc. of Michigan in 2018, this fast growing cultivar is a sport of H. 'Pilgrim'. It grows into a small size plant about 9 inches high by 28 inches wide with green foliage that has a cream colored marginal variegation. The leaves are ovate, modertely twisted, folded, wavy and dull on top and bottom. Pale lavender flowers on scapes 11 to 16 inches tall bloom from July into August followed by viable seeds. The flowers have purple interior stripes and the buds are dark lavender in color.

The registration materials state: "...Leaves have showy, wavy margins with a single prominent wave that begins one-third of the way from the leaf base. Grey-green color appears where center & margin colors overlap..."

Abstract: A new and distinct Hosta plant named ‘Wrinkle in Time’ with compact rounded-mound habit of dense foliage having blades of wide variegated creamy-yellow developing to creaming-white margins, and dark center with minor intermediate feathering colors. The plant in early summer with compact scapes of closely held horizontal lavender flowers. Foliage has a longitudinal pinching or indentation, tortuous especially when young.
