This
tissue culture sport of H. 'Blue Mammoth' was
registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2003. It
is a giant size hosta which grows
over 28 inches tall with a spread of about 65 inches wide with oblong to
ovate leaves that are moderately corrugated and have thick
substance. The near white flowers start to bloom in late June
followed by viable seeds.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...listings of this cultivar keep
showing up as' wooly Mammoth' (versus the correct' woolly
Mammoth')."
Zilis (2009)
continues, "Slow to increase but eventually becomes huge if given enough moisture. The
slightly arching leaves accentuate the higher midribs. The leaves fold and pleat
toward the tip in well-grown plants."
