This fast growing, large size (22
inches high by 30 inches wide) hybrid of H. 'Bright Lights' × an
open-pollinated seedling was registered by
Madelon Gilligan of New Zealand in 2013.
It has light green to pale yellow
foliage that is lightly corrugated, slightly flat and has a glaucous top. Near white, tubular flowers bloom from June into
July. It sets seeds but their viability was undetermined at the time
of registration.
Although
it could refer to a rifle or a movie or a cathedral, we would
guess that it is named for the town in the South-Canterbury
region of New Zealand.
