Registered by
Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 1998, this cultivar forms a small size (9 inches high) mound of lance
shaped, wavy foliage with thick substance and reddish petioles.
Lavender flowers bloom in September. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...certainly has a H. longipes background...The overall appearance of' wily Willy' is close to
'Tardiflora'. Ed
Elslager named this with the forty-second U.S. President in
mind."
