Originated around 1967 by Alex Summers of Delaware, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage but has H. 'Sieboldiana' in its background. It is large size hosta with blue-green foliage.

Schmid (1991) cites "Lauman" as the originator of this cultivar. It was part of a large collection of hostas that Alex Summers received from many sources and kept in a numbered list. This one was called Summers No. 140 1967.
