Hosta 'Weser'

Registered by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio in 2003 on behalf of the originator, Heinz Klose of Staudengärtnerei Klose in Germany, this cultivar is of unidentified parentage but is a Tardiana-type hosta.

The medium size plant grows to about 12 inches in  height with a width of around 33 inches. Its foliage is deep blue-green which changes to dark green by late summer. The leaves are slightly wavy, ovate and has a thick bloom on the bottom. Lavender flowers bloom from late August into September.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...from the Tardiana seedlings he obtained from Eric Smith in the 1970s."

This cultivar is named for a river in the northern part of Germany.
