Hosta 'Wayne'

This sport of H. 'Fortunei Hyacinthina' was originated by Gus Krossa of Michigan but registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1999. Unlike its mother plant, this cultivar has greenish yellow to yellow margins. It grows into a medium size hosta about 17 inches in height with a spread of 39 inches. Lavender flowers bloom from late July into August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...had been known as H. fortunei hyacinthina 'Variegated' in hosta collections before Pete and I decided that 'Wayne' would be an acceptable name for it. Livonia, Michigan is located in Wayne County."
