Originated by
Mary Vertz
of Wisconsin, this cultivar was registered in
2021
as a sport of H. 'Giantland Blue Banana'. It is a
large size (24 inches high by
46 inches wide) hosta with intensely blue-green foliage. The
broadly ovate leaves are heavily twisted, moderately
folded and heavily corrugated. It bears medium purple,
tubular shape
flowers with stripes from June into July
and sets seed but their viability was not known at the
time of registration.
According to the Registration materials: "Very unruly plant with deeply
corrugated leaves that twist and wave in the air. Some
leaves are folded and upright, other leaves form a lower
ring offering another dimension to the overall
appearance...blue green through early July turning deep
green thereafter..." |
