Registered by
Dr. Doug and Mardy Beilstein of Ohio in
2017,
this large size (20 inches high by 45 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Daybreak' ×
H. 'Blue
Angel'. The golden yellow foliage is
broadly ovate, slightly wavy and slightly shiny on top.
Pale lavender flowers bloom from mid-July into August on scapes up to 30 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Emerges light green and as the
sun intensifies, it morphs to a
beautiful gold color with
slightly ruffled leaves. The
clearly delineated veins are a
solid, contrasting, light green.
People remark at the vividness...Light
green early turning golden
yellow later."
