This cultivar was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio on behalf of the originator, Vilmorin et Andrieux of Canada in 1999. It has been around since the 1960's. A medium size plant, it forms medium lavender flowers in August.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), it is similar to H. 'Montreal' and has been mislabeled and sold as H. 'Vilmoriana'.
