Hosta 'Velvet Sun'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. Neither is registered with The American Hosta Society. The first one to be registered would become the "official" hosta of that name and the other would have to be renamed.

This cultivar was listed on the MyHostas Database website. Originated by Randy Goodwin of Indiana, this non-registered cultivar is of unidentified parentage. It is a large size hosta with heart shape leaves that are shiny and have thick substance. They start the season golden-yellow but change to chartreuse as the season progresses. It is touted as being sun tolerant.
