Don Dean
of Minnesota bred this hybrid of H. 'Urajiro Hachijo' × H. 'Blue Clown' and registered it in 2000. The
small size hosta is about 9 inches
tall and spreads to 29 inches wide with broadly ovate foliage
that is wavy and has smooth texture. Its lavender flowers bloom
from mid-August.
Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term urajiro as white-backed or white underside.
