This slow growing cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Rosedale
Black Hole' which was registered by
Jim Husemann of Iowa in 2009. It grows to a large size about 20 inches high by
45 inches wide with deep blue-green foliage which stays
throughout the summer. The leaves are very broadly
ovate, cupped and heavily corrugated. Near white flowers
bloom from late June into July.
From the
Field Guide to Hostas by Mark Zilis (2014), "If your hosta tastes run toward intense corrugation, a
deep blue foliage color that lasts almost the entire
growing season, and great slug resistance, then 'Taurus'
is a must. It is part of Jim Husemann's "Signs of the
Zodiac" series of hostas and is one of his best."
