Hosta 'TBSP Butter'

Originated by Kay Dye of Illinois, this cultivar was registered in 2021 as an open-pollinated seedling of H. 'PeeDee Gold Flash'. It is a slow growing, miniature size (4 inches high by 7 inches wide) hosta with golden yellow foliage. The nearly round leaves are moderately cupped, moderately corrugated and slightly shiny on top with red petiole whose color extends into the leaf blade. It bears pale purple, tubular flowers with stripes that bloom from June into July on reddish colored scapes but does not set seeds.

According to the Registration materials: "Tiny cupped corrugated golden yellow leaves with red petioles extending into the leaf blade."

For non-chefs, TBSP stands for tablespoon.
