this large size (26 inches high by 50 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sunny
Smiles' ×
H. 'Streets of Gold'. It is a deeply
golden-yellow hosta with broadly ovate leaves that are
heavily corrugated, flat, slightly shiny on top and have
prominent veins. Pale lavender flowers bloom in July on scapes 30 to 34 inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Leaves exhibit
heavy substance, deep veins and are very rugose at
maturity. Strong resistance to sun damage...Emerges
golden chartreuse quickly turning bright gold before
settling into a creamy gold for the remainder of the
season." |
