this small to medium size (11 inches high by 29 inches
wide) cultivar is a seedling of (H. ‘Frosted
Dimples’ × H. ‘Sea Frolic’) ×
H. 'Subterranean Pool'.
It is intensely
blue-green with foliage that is broadly ovate, slightly
twisted, moderately folded, moderately corrugated,
intensely wavy and glaucous on top and bottom. Pale
lavender flowers with medium lavender centers and
translucent margins bloom in August on scapes about 15
inches tall followed by viable seeds. The
registration materials state: "...Neat mound of
wavy, rugose, intensely blue green leaves with white
backs. Color holds until frost." |
