Hosta 'Stripper'

Appropriately, this is a sport of H. 'Striptease' which was originated by Luc Klinkhamer of the Netherlands but registered by Danny Van Eechaute of Belgium in 2002. It has medium green foliage with a wide, white marginal variegation. This cultivar forms a large size (20 inches high) mound of slightly wavy, smooth textured foliage of average substance. It bears pale lavender flowers from mid-July into August.

From The Hosta Journal, (2008 Vol. 39 No 1), "...could be described as the reverse of 'Risky Business'. Its narrow green leaves are circled by a wide, contrasting margin that starts out slightly cream-colored but rapidly turns white. Otherwise, the colors of 'Stripper' are steadfast...An attempt to tissue-culture it failed, so it will likely remain rare for some time."
