Registered by Stuart Asch of Michigan in
2000, this cultivar is a seedling of an H. 'Dorothy Benedict' seedling. The large size hosta with blue-green foliage
grows to around 24 inches in height with a spread of
around 45 inches. Its pale lavender flowers bloom from
late June into July on scapes up to 28 inches tall.
The originator made the
following comment on the
Fraternal Order
of Seedy Fellows website: "One of my older plants
that has rugged blue leaves as the name implies. Some
leaves have an occasional streak to them but this is not
consistent. The near white flowers of summer really
makes this plant stick out."
