Registered by Ed Schulz of Iowa in 2002, this cultivar is a seedling of H. kikutii densa. A medium size hosta, 'Spike Jones' grows to about 12 inches in height with a spread of around 34 inches. The foliage is medium green in color, narrowly ovate and has a moderate bloom on the bottom. Pale lavender flowers bloom in August on scapes about 24 inches high.
