this cultivar is a seedling of (H. 'Flor Roja' × "Falstad
Seedling Exp. 136") ×
open-pollinated seedling of
"Rawson Seedling 10-4". It is a medium size hosta about
15 inches high by 20 inches wide with medium green
foliage. The leaves are ovate and slightly shiny on top
and bottom.
The flowers which bloom
in August were described as: "...warm dark pinkish red
on exterior, interior reveals white stripes, alternating
petals have wider white margins..." They set viable
seeds. The
registration materials state: "Small clump of green
leaves with low vein count (typical
H. sieboldii
type). Stealing the show are warm dark pinkish red
flowers on tall scapes in August."
