Robert
Savory
of Savory's Gardens in Minnesota registered this hybrid of H. 'Ginko
Craig' × a seedling in 1982. Its medium size (18 inches high) mound features
wavy, smooth textured leaves. The pale purple flowers have reddish
purple scapes and bloom in August followed by viable seeds. According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...has caught the fancy of many shade
gardeners and hosta collectors. It is one of the best hostas for
flower effect, producing many purple flowers well above the foliage
on reddish scapes."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Diana
Grenfell (2009) states: "Long racemes of flowers poised almost at right
angles to the scape well above the leaf mound."
