Of unidentified origin ation, this
small (10 inches high by 24 inches wide) size, non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. 'Ogon
Koba'. It is a gold colored hosta with a narrow, light
yellow marginal variegation. The leaves are narrowly
elliptic, slightly wavy and have smooth texture with
thin substance.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...appears to be a sport of H. sieboldii 'Subcrocea'." Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled,
A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term koba as small leaf,
'Koba Gibōshi' or
H. sieboldii and the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow. |
