this small size (9 inches high by 26 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Dorset
Clown' ×
H. 'Silver Bay'. The foliage is intensely
blue-green in color with a pale yellow marginal
variegation. Its leaves are broadly ovate, slightly
twisted, moderately folded, slightly corrugated and has glaucous bloom on the top and bottom. Pale lavender
flowers bloom in August on scapes 12 to 16 inches tall
followed by viable seeds in blue-green pods.
The registration materials state: "...Long-lasting,
clear blue coloration on a small-sized, flat clump.
Glows morning and evening. Holds its blue color late (in
Minnesota)...margin becomes near white later." |
